Illuminate

In today’s class we finished taking our test. We wrote our essay on America’s isolationism and interventionism. We compared and contrasted whether Monroe’s Doctrine was a good or bad thing. I ended up saying it was a good thing, with my reasoning being America resolves issue. A good counter claim could be that America only intervenes for their own interests.

Vocabulary

In yesterday’s class there was a substitute teacher. She gave us vocabulary to do and it was also a block schedule. In the vocabulary assignment we were given twenty words. We had to copy down the words and its definition, and then fill in the blank sentences with the words. In the end we turned in the assignment and was off.

Illuminate

In today’s class we continued taking our test on illuminate. Mr. Rease gave us a miniature lesson about writing our essay. He gave us a format for us to use on our last question. The essay I was given was a comparison essay between whether or not I believe America’s interference policy is a good or bad thing. We will finish up our essays on Friday.

In today’s class we were on illuminate. We took a benchmark in class that assessed our understanding of American lit. It is for a grade and we’re are to do four through out the schools year. It is required that we take it so we get credit in this class and can move on to the nest grade. We will also finish our Emily Dickinson test on Friday.

Evidence

In today’s class we learned about evidence. We learned that your evidence come from your readings, experiences, and your observations. We also learned that you need to explain your evidence. We watched videos of Oj Simpson and saw how people reacted to Oj being free. A claim without evidence, without the evidence being explained is no good.

Illuminate questions and Notes

Today’s class was a block schedule. It was very long and in this class we looked at advertisements up on the board and using illuminate we answers the questions. The three question prompts we needed to answer was what was the Logos, Ethos, and Pathos. After that we took notes on claims. And also looked at different claims.

Logos, Ethos, Pathos

In today’s class Mr. Rease returned back. We learned about forming an argumentative essay where we learned three key factors. Lagos, Ethos, and Pathos. Lagos being logic, Ethos being credibility, and Pathos being talking to the emotions of the audience. These notes will help us to form an argumentative format essay in our EOC.
