Fences Reading

In today’s class we read the play Fences. We had four people chosen by Mr.Rease to read and act aloud the people in the story. We also had a worksheet to do in which we listed out quotes we found interesting, the characters traits and looks, key events in the story, two themes, and lastly a short summary. Everyone in the class will have to read. Lastly we will do an assessment on this story.

In yesterday’s class we began reading a poem called A Rose for Emily. The story was of a woman born to an aristocrat family. In the poem Emily dies and it recalled throughout the poem. We learn that she lives in a lavish house in a nice neighborhood. We also learned that she doesn’t pay any taxes due to her father loaning to city a huge amount. Her father died, and we learn that is the reason as to why she isolates herself.

In today’s class we continued with our reading. We read part two of A Rose for Emily. In the poem we learned of a smell that was bothering the neighborhood. We also dived deeper into the feelings of the neighbors on Emily. Lastly we had seven question to answer.

The Great Figure

In Friday’s class we completed an assignment on a poem. The poem was of a fire truck zooming through a dark rainy city. We made an illustration of what we thought the scenery was. We also had questions that we needed to answer in the back. The assignment was due at the end of class, and that’s when I turned it in.
