In today’s class we had introduction slides into The Great Gatsby. We also had a writing assignment to do. We had to list eight things we learned, three things we want to know, and two question we have. We will be focusing on this novel for the entire month. We also have continuous class discussions about the novel

In today’s class we learned about a Rhetorical Device. That Rhetorical Device was Hyperbole. A Hyperbole is exaggerating some parts of your statement to give it attention or focus. The three different ways people use hyperbole is to make a strong point, snap attention to something, and to show difference. Lastly we than had a practice in which we wrote a hyperbole using one of the three ways; on different topics.

Today was a block schedule class. In today’s class we set goals we wanted to achieve in 2024. Be it academic or not. We started by listing five goals and listing three ways we were going to achieve each goal. We then had to write a paragraph further explaining each goal. Lastly Mr. Rease was out today and we had the assistant principal as our substitute teacher.
