Rhetorical Devices

In today’s class we learned about a Rhetorical Device. That Rhetorical Device was Hyperbole. A Hyperbole is exaggerating some parts of your statement to give it attention or focus. The three different ways people use hyperbole is to make a strong point, snap attention to something, and to show difference. Lastly we than had a practice in which we wrote a hyperbole using one of the three ways; on different topics.

 In yesterday’s class we took a Benchmark. The Bench mark took up the entire class period. It was a block schedule day. The Benchmark was split into two parts, one about the Presidents Kennedys speech, and another on FDR Second Bill of Rights. Vocabulary fill in

In yesterday’s class Mr. Rease was out and we had a sub. She’s gave us a sheet of paper and told us to put in ten vocab words given to us in the blanks. There were 20 questions and ten words. Each word needing to be used twice. Mr. Rease will be here today and we will finish up our test.

Creating claims

In yesterday’s class we had a in-class assignment. We had to create claims to certain proms and also create opposing claims. We also had a reflection at the end, asking if any of our own opinions had changed. We had a class activity where we shared some of the claims we made ourselves. I completed the assignment in class.
