Compose the Arguement Paragraph

In today’s class we had a writing assignment. Today’s class was also a block schedule say. We re-visited our Illuminate that we did on Tuesday, and used it to write our paragraph’s. We had to write about both prompts, and said our claim alongside explaining it. We also had to provide a conclusion statement. Lastly we reviewed each others papers and gave feedback.

Finding and supporting evidence

In today’s class we had an illuminate assignment. We had two writing prompts. One of the prompts was if we believed surdent athletes should be compensated, another was if social media was damaging to teenagers. We had to read two articles on both prompts. We also had to create two claims and find evidence and support that claim.

Creating claims

In yesterday’s class we had a in-class assignment. We had to create claims to certain proms and also create opposing claims. We also had a reflection at the end, asking if any of our own opinions had changed. We had a class activity where we shared some of the claims we made ourselves. I completed the assignment in class. 

Newsela Article/Identifying Claims

In Friday’s class we did a Newsela article. The article was about the economics and trials to a bachelor degree. The author argued that pursuing a three-year bachelor was ideal. We had to identify ten claims, and create an opposing argument. We also had a mini lesson with Mr. Rease.

Newsela Article

In Tuesday class we had a Newsela Article. The article was about fast foot jobs and how they overwork minors. In the article we read multiple people’s POV and how their schedule affected their school work. We also had a quiz and a writing prompt. These quizzes will help us in the EOC.

Benchmark

 In Thursday class we continued our literature benchmark. The benchmark was about Kennedy’s speech and about FDR Second Bill of Rights. I finished the entire benchmark and was left to do the essay. I completed the essay during SAIL. Lastly we had a Newsela article.

Newsela Reading Assignment

In today’s class we read an article in Newsela. It was about Technology and its role in shaping the future. We went over a quick lesson with Mr. Rease about citing evidence. We also had to answer question about the article, while also citing evidence. Lastly those who have not finished their benchmark from last week, will finish during sail.

Benchmark Assesment

 In yesterday’s class we took a Benchmark. The Bench mark took up the entire class period. It was a block schedule day. The Benchmark was split into two parts, one about the Presidents Kennedys speech, and another on FDR Second Bill of Rights. We answered multiple choose questions on both topics, quick responses, and lastly a full essay.

Culture project

In today’s class we continued working on the project introduced to us yesterday. The project is about culture and we have to use four literary devices. We have to provide pictures. We will not present it in a traditional way, rather through Jam board. Lastly the project will need to also have themes.

Langston Hugh’s assessment

In yesterday’s class we took an assessment on Langston Hugh’s. It was a block day and we were given the entire period to complete it. It was 25 questions in total. After everyone was finished we were introduced to a project about culture. It needs to be completed Sunday night.
